With schools returning to session, LCM PLUS has been hard at work improving playgrounds and campuses.
At the Franklin Early Childhood Center in Melrose, LCM PLUS installed a planter box around an existing tree in the play yard. This project was to provide an area for the children to garden. By installing composite decking material on the contact surfaces, the box is splinter free, designed especially for the young students. The easy-to-reach planting areas have been divided into sections so that pre-schoolers can get hands on experience and learn about growing seeds, nature, and maintaining a beautiful garden. LCM PLUS is honored to donate a paver to the new brick entryway, unveiled during the ribbon cutting ceremony on August 27.
You may have seen our trucks recently over at St. Mary’s School. LCM PLUS has been busy performing masonry repairs around the grounds. Due to some settlement and cracks, we repaired 4 sets of entry stairs as well as the retaining wall along the back. LCM PLUS also refreshed the playground by replacing the aging timbers around the entire perimeter and installing new vinyl coated fencing. LCM PLUS installed composite decking on top of the timbers here, too, eliminating wood splinters. New entry steps were installed and new playground safety mulch was spread out to replace the old rubber mulch ground cover. With this, the playground appearance and safety is now improved.
Good luck students!
